APPLICATION: For most media including many with aggressive or corrosive characteristics on medium to heavy-duty industrial service in normal and most chemically hostile environments.

CASE CONSTRUCTION

OUTER CASE:

Injection molded, glass fiber reinforced, UV-normalized polyamide; black, with integral solid front bulkhead

INNER CASE (SAFETY CELL):

Deep drawn 304 stainless steel secured to outer case by a series of stainless steel studs and nuts

LENS:

Standard: High impact, injection molded acrylic
Optional: Multi-layer safety glass

LENS RING:

Glass fiber reinforced polypropylene, threaded

BLOW-OUT BACK:

Glass fiber reinforced polyamide secured to safety cell by integral snap-on clips

CASE-SOCKET SEAL:

The system is secured in the safety cell by means of a peripheral TIG weld at the case-socket joint.

GASKETS:

EPDM O-rings for glycerine filling; request details for other fill fluids.

COMPENSATING DIAPHRAGM:

The molded EPDM diaphragm is bonded to the blow-out back and is glycerine compatible; request details for other fill fluids.

SIZE:

4½" in the configurations illustrated above. (Note that configurations B and T are not fillable.)

PROTECTION:

IP 65

SYSTEM

SOCKET:

Cold rolled 316L stainless steel

ELASTIC TUBE:

316L stainless steel, seamless, drawn and heat treated, stress relieved, in a precision milled slot and deep TIG welded to socket; C-tube for ranges up to 0....1000 psi; multi-turn spiral tube for ranges 0...1500 psi and higher

MOVEMENT:

303/304 stainless steel

DIAL:

Aluminum, white coated, with black scale and numerals

ZERO:

Gauge shows true zero. There is no take-up.

POINTER:

Aluminum, black anodized with zero reset feature

INTERNAL STOPS:

Internal stops prevent disengagement of sector and pinion. A rigid stop acts in the event of over-pressure. A spring-buffered stop acts in the event of rapid de-pressurization or line vacuum.

CONNECTION (NPT)

SIZE

STANDARD

4½" ½" or ¼"

Ranges from 0...10,000 through 0...30,000 are also available with 9/16" - 18 LH connection for use with collar and gland for medium and/or high pressure service.

ACCURACY

For all ranges up to 0...10000 psi:
Grade 2A (ASME B40.1 - 1998), i.e., maximum error of + 0.5% of span throughout the scale
For ranges 0...15000 psi through 0...30000 psi:
Grade 1A (ASME B40.1 - 1998), i.e., maximum error of + 1.0% throughout the scale

Note: Accuracy is applicable to a dry gauge. Liquid filling may reduce accuracy by one grade.

PROCESS DATA

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RANGE * :

-15...+150 F

PROCESS TEMPERATURE RANGE * :

-22...+300 F

MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSURE ** :

fluctuating: 90% of full scale
steady: 100% of full scale

MAX. PERMISSIBLE OVER-PRESSURE ** :

30% of full scale
* Applicable to a dry gauge; for liquid filled gauges see fill fluid table.
** Applicable to all ranges through 0...20000 psi. For the range 0...30000 psi, maximum operating pressure is 75% and permissible over-pressure is 10% of full scale.

FILL FLUIDS

FLUID

TEMPERATURE RANGE (ambient and process)
Pure Glycerine* +60.....150 F
Silicone* -50.....150 F
Hydrofluorocarbon -75.....150 F
* Not for use with oxygen or any oxidants!
Only the safety cell and the shallow space between outer case bulkhead and lens are liquid filled. This design therefore requires significantly less fill fluid than most other process gauges.
Note: Configurations B and T are not fillable.
